By now it has almost become a fondly loved yearly routine reaching out to our very active, innovative partner ecosystem in Energy & Utilities and promote our upcoming SPRINT1 Industry Cloud initiative. The purpose of the Utilities SPRINT1 is to encourage our industry partner practice to come forward with value-driven innovation use cases that address customer needs and transform them into their own Industry Cloud app with support from our SPRINT1 team.
Figure1: SPRINT1 objectives
The Industry Cloud initiative is SAP´s strategy to extend the Intelligent Suite with innovative Industry Cloud apps, which can come from SAP but also from Partner Edge Build partners. SAP Industry Cloud apps are built on or integrate through SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). Partners commercialize their SAP Industry Cloud apps through SAP Store. The objective of Industry Cloud is to give partners for innovation to complement and enrich the SAP solution portfolio, addressing market needs in Energy & Utilities, and strengthening the overall value proposition we jointly bring to the market. Find more about Industry Cloud in this blog.
How can a partner become part of SPRINT1 for Energy & Utilities 2023?
First step is to have an innovative use case that addresses a solution whitespace or adds a new capability to the SAP industry solution portfolio. If you have more than one innovation case to propose – even better. You simply need to fill out the application form and send back below mentioned SAP contact. And of course, all partner-proposed use cases will be kept confidential by SAP under the protection of your existing PartnerEdge Build agreement.
All submitted partner applications will be reviewed by SAP experts from the IBU Utilities, Utilities Product Development, Industry Cloud Team, ENR Partner Management and Co-Innovation Lab Team. As this is a competition, two rounds of partner interviews will follow, and the lucky winners will be invited to join the exclusive SPRINT1 initiative.
For those, who could qualify for SPIRNT1 an active time is ahead. End of September (Sep 22nd – 29th) our colleagues from SAP Co-Innovation Lab will run a bootcamp week during which partners enjoy exclusive enablement on SAP BTP cloud development techniques, individual guidance on cloud architecture topics and development support. The SPRINT1 will conclude with a demo jam, giving partners the chance to showcase first results to SAP industry executives – again fully confidential.
After the bootcamp week, partners will individually finalize their apps with regular checkpoints and development progress reviews with the SAP team. Also, additional guidance, enablement and support is offered to the participating partners during this phase, if needed.
Final step in the SPRINT1 journey is to onboard the Industry Cloud-approved app to the SAP Store and start promotion activities. Here again, the SAP team will support partners and trigger related activities when app development comes to an end.
Figure 2: Steps to nominate your innovation case
The SPRINT1 initiative is a superb opportunity for partner to convert their innovative ideas or even already existing solutions into SAP Industry Cloud apps with extensive support of SAP. During the journey SAP is providing technical and architectural advice and enablement to all qualifying partner and is actively supporting the commercialization and go-to-market though SAP Store.
